Little Closets Consignment Information

Consigning at Little Closets

How does it work?

We accept drop-off consignment anytime during our store hours (Monday through Saturday, 10-6pm; Sunday, 12-6pm; closed Tuesdays) – no appointment is necessary. First-time consignors will receive a copy of a contract outlining our store policies (also available for download through our website: http://littleclosets.wordpress.com).

After dropping off their items, consignors should receive an email about one week* later detailing which items were accepted for consignment, and which items (if any) could not be taken. Any items not accepted will be kept at the store for 2 weeks, at which time they will be donated to the local charity, Hour Children (www.hourchildren.org).  * The one-week processing period is an estimate. We would appreciate your flexibility on this.

All consigned items are kept in the store for 3 months (item display may vary at the owner’s discretion), at which point they will undergo final markdowns. We will contact the consignor at this time to alert them that their consignment period is ending. Consignors who wish to may opt to pick up their items before the final markdown occurs. After the consignment period ends, any unsold items will be held at the store for 1 week. Any items not picked up by this time become the property of Little Closets.

Pricing:

All items are priced by Little Closets during the initial processing period. We usually list items at around 50% of the retail price, depending on the type of item, availability, quality, etc.

Consignors who wish to view a price list for their current items may request this by emailing littleclosets@yahoo.com.

All items are subject to price change without notice at the discretion of Little Closets.

How do you get paid?

For each item that sells, consignors will receive 40% of the current price in the form of store credit. Consignors who do not wish to receive store credit may opt for a check instead, at a rate of 30% of the selling price.

Store credit accumulates in each consignor’s account automatically and may be redeemed in the store at any time. Consignors wishing to receive a check for their sold items must request this in writing after the 15th of the month. Please allow at least two days for us to prepare your check. (Both store credit and checks are valid for one year from the date issued.)

Consignors may check in with us at any time for an update on the status of their account.
